The Tarrasque is a colossal, lizard-like beast driven solely by a desire to consume, kill, and wreak havoc. Typically, in most campaign settings, there is only one tarrasque per world. This creature possesses low intelligence and cannot communicate verbally. Although it exhibits a violent and savage demeanor, it is neutrally aligned, lacking the mental capacity to discern between good and evil.

The tarrasque first appeared in the original Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, drawing inspiration from the French legend of the tarasque.
